Irradiated Software’s – TwoUp
Irradiated software has introduced TwoUp a way to easily tile windows in OSX. Two up is freeware, but you can also get SizeUP, which allows you to do a little more, for a price. The company allows you to pick your price however. I’d recommend checking them out if you’ve ever been needed to line up windows side by side quickly and easily.
Comcast Snohomish County Channel Lineup
I plugged in my new digital TV into the cable and noticed a large number of unfamiliar channels. I searched around for a list from Comcast but was only to get those lists that work with their cable boxes.
I wasn’t able to find any place listing the channels so with this blogger’s help I was able to put together a list. Although I would expect this to change very soon.
Also I would recommend seeing this post from Brian Dudley, Seattle Times blogger for word from Comcast on coming changes.

Ultra Small Form Factor and 1080P
The coming Via Surfboard C855 mainboard could have some awesome potential for home media center enthusiasts. This ultra small form factor setup designed for netbooks, outputs HD video at resolutions up to 1920X1440. Despite the fact that it includes GPS it seems like it would fit well into the home theater space. The David Meyer the ZDNet reporter laments VIA’s use of the C7-M processor over the Nano, but in my opinion turning this into a power saving small home theater system could bring about some interesting results regardless of CPU.
On phone companies…

A few months ago I signed up for Verizon’s FiOS internet and digital television service. Overall the service is quite good, the internet is much faster than Comcast, and there is much less compression on the HD television channels.
Like most companies, if you want to call Verizon, or register on their website, it asks for your account number. When they installed the service, they didn’t give me an account number. They have never emailed it to me, nor have they emailed me a bill. I have not received any paper bills either.
Through the advice of a friend, I was able to login to my “verizon webmail” account, and found an account number there, I can even view my bill – but it turns out that is only the bill for internet, I have to go elsewhere for the full bill. I tried using the account number to register on the regular Verizon site, but they want the date of my last bill to confirm my registration!
I even tried calling Verizon, but they won’t give your account number out over the phone.

A Bit Unexpected, White Macbook Gets Refreshed

Apple Updates White Macbook
I had assumed the non-unibody Macbooks were on their way out, that perhaps Apple was just selling off some of its remaining production. With the lack of firewire in the unibody machines, buying a new Macbook didn’t sound too great for a lot of people, unless they wanted to move up to a bulkier pro model. But now, as pointed out by Engadget, with NVDIA GeForce 9400M graphics, the machine has received a significant update. Firewire lovers rejoice!
