Everything is auto-saved, dated, and searchable. The program provides folders to organize your notes, including smart folders, there’s even a cool lexicon function.

Which is why it was sad to hear today when I went to check in on the status of Journler development and found a post from Philip Dow, the developer that he was ceasing development on the project.

It sounds like development was to consuming, without enough financial return. I could be wrong about this, but I wish Philip had considered a lower price for the program when he first priced it. It’s listed at 35$ right now, which, while it’s a useful product, seems like a lot for the niché it fills. Then again perhaps that wouldn’t have been sustainable either. I would have thought something around $10 would be more appropriate.

Regardless the program is wonderful, and I think a version is still available for download. If you have a chance I’d really suggest you check it out.

Now the tool appears to be working inconsistently.

While locked out a double click will work. But if not the double click will only work if a track is already playing. The behavior may be even more inconsistent apparently depending on what app is open at the time.

iPod Touch generation 1 owners are even more in a bind because that without independent audio controls, the old system provided the only way to quickly adjust the system volume.

Apple’s support forums are now lighting up with customers who are upset about the issue and hoping Apple takes notice and fixes it.

I plugged in my new digital TV into the cable and noticed a large number of unfamiliar channels. I searched around for a list from Comcast but was only to get those lists that work with their cable boxes.

I wasn’t able to find any place listing the channels so with this blogger’s help I was able to put together a list. Although I would expect this to change very soon.

Also I would recommend seeing this post from Brian Dudley, Seattle Times blogger for word from Comcast on coming changes.

The coming Via Surfboard C855 mainboard could have some awesome potential for home media center enthusiasts. This ultra small form factor setup designed for netbooks, outputs HD video at resolutions up to 1920X1440. Despite the fact that it includes GPS it seems like it would fit well into the home theater space. The David Meyer the ZDNet reporter laments VIA’s use of the C7-M processor over the Nano, but in my opinion turning this into a power saving small home theater system could bring about some interesting results regardless of CPU.

A few months ago I signed up for Verizon’s FiOS internet and digital television service. Overall the service is quite good, the internet is much faster than Comcast, and there is much less compression on the HD television channels.

Like most companies, if you want to call Verizon, or register on their website, it asks for your account number. When they installed the service, they didn’t give me an account number. They have never emailed it to me, nor have they emailed me a bill. I have not received any paper bills either.

Through the advice of a friend, I was able to login to my “verizon webmail” account, and found an account number there, I can even view my bill – but it turns out that is only the bill for internet, I have to go elsewhere for the full bill. I tried using the account number to register on the regular Verizon site, but they want the date of my last bill to confirm my registration!

I even tried calling Verizon, but they won’t give your account number out over the phone.
